A Corgi named Darth Vader!-Fort Desoto Park St Petersburg-Pet Photography Tampa

Hello! I have some super fun Pet Photography to share with you today! Yes this Corgi’s name really is Darth Vader and he lives in St Petersburg with his Dads Alan and Christian. The got him a Darth Vader costume to wear during part of this shoot and the results were adorable and amazing! This is the second shoot I have done with a Corgi at Fort Desoto Park this year! I have very good luck with Corgis-the first full dog portrait shoot I ever did was of a Corgi puppy that belonged to a fellow photography student when I was in school. They are all cute, fun and pretty patient!

Look at that face! I believe we wanted him to be sitting at this point but he wanted to come see me up close! We went to Fort Desoto 8am Sunday morning and there were only 1-2 other dogs there when we started. Seems to be the best time to do a pet session there!

Darth loves to chase tennis balls which made me very happy! It was pretty easy to get the fun action shots I love! Check out that tongue!

I moved around a few times so we would have a variety of different backgrounds for the running shots. It is amazing how much of a difference moving just a few feet can make!

There are a lot of pretty places in the Tampa Bay area but nowhere have I been able to find fields of wildflowers for my sessions. There are often Black Eyed Susans at many of the beaches though which worked great as a background for this, one of my favorite photos from our session.

Darth was willing to sit still on this bench just long enough for me to get a couple of cute images!

And now what you have all been waiting for-Darth Vader in his costume! Well it’s cute but would you know it is a Darth Vader costume if had not told you? There is print which is placed on his back that makes it more obvious but it was difficult to get a photo of it along with his adorable face! We were right along a dirt path and I had the idea of photographing him from the side as he ran after a tennis ball so the cape would fly out behind him. It worked and these are some of my favorite pet photos of all time!

Darth Vader is really flying here! We had him chase the ball 4-5 times to get a range of images and I am so happy I captured this moment with all 4 feet off of the ground!

Every time Darth ran back with the ball he looked my way as he ran past! SO cute!

I got on the other side of the path and this is an image that will go in my personal ‘Hall of Fame’ I LOVE it!

We finished up the session posing Darth on a huge old tree trunk near the pier area next to the dog park. He did a pretty great job of sitting still for us!

I had a wonder time! After we finished I went back to the beach and by then a lot of other dogs had arrived. I photographed a bunch of them as well and will share my favorite photos of them in my next post later in the week. The dog beach is such a happy place! Thanks so much to Alan and Christian for hiring me to photograph the adorable Darth Vader!    If you are interested in a photo session for your dog in the Tampa Bay or Orlando area email me at Stephaniellen11@gmail.com. Visit the Pet Photography Page on my website for more details! If you are interested in a session between now and Christmas you should schedule a date now! My calendar is filling quickly! Pets may also be included in family sessions.
