Wood Storks-Tampa Nature Photography
Hello everyone, just have a few fun bird photos to share with you today. I am still fascinated by the variety of birds that live here in Florida. Fascinated by the fact that you do not have to go anywhere special to see them-one might fly across the road when you are driving your car or be hanging out in the parking lot of a shopping center. There are many different varieties of ducks as well-when I lived in Maryland all I ever really saw were mallards. I never know what kind of visitors may decide to stop by for a visit at the lake in my community but the other morning I had a special treat. There were 10 of these large Wood Storks hanging out on the little dock there! They were nice enough to let me get fairly close to photograph them for about 20 minutes before they decided to move on.
There seemed to be two different kinds, maybe male and female-the first as seen above and a few others like this next one.
I was fortunate to have a nice blue sky as a backdrop. It is so much fun to just stumble upon a sight like this! It was fun to simply stand still and just watch them for awhile as well. Nature never ceases to amaze me!
I am glad I was able to get this last image when the bird was ‘stretching’. I hope to do some more nature photography soon as the weather will be finally cooling off a bit soon here in Tampa.
